Google Project Zero's security team has detected a new and serious flaw in BitTorrent software, allowing hackers to hack and remotely control devices, where programs and the operating system are deceived to gain greater powers.
The Project Zero security team noted that this vulnerability exists precisely in the Transmission program, which allows BitTorrent software to be managed through the browser by manipulating domain servers and then converting web pages to external sources to download malicious software through which the victims are hacked.
Project Zero has released a fix for this vulnerability but has yet to be approved by BitTorrent, which said in an official statement it would soon adopt it.
The Project Zero team has made significant contributions to the discovery of several loopholes, the most recent of which is the security holes in intel processors, which have been damaged by many devices.
